Chalkboard Paint Cups

We are often using paper cups and then throwing them away afterward because someone’s name was scribbled in permanent marker all over it.

I was tired of wasting paper cups.

And tired of the permanent marker.

And since I had bought a bottle of chalkboard spray paint on clearance at Michael’s, I figured now was a good time to try it out.

Here’s how I did it.

1. Cut a hole in a plastic cup to use as a template for the rest.
I chose to make a simple rectangle to keep things easy.

2. Take your trusty Chalkboard spray paint and get ready to spray!
I also chose to wear rubber gloves to keep my hands clean.

3. Insert a clean plastic cup INSIDE the template cup.
Be sure to use your thumb and hand to cover up any part of the inside cup that shows at the top.
There’s nothing worse than having to put your mouth on spray paint!

4. Spray two thin coats of chalkboard paint over the template cup.

5. Slide the inside cup out carefully and set aside to dry.

6. Once it’s dry, take chalk and write names on each one.

The great part is the chalk washes off as you wash each one to reuse at the next party!
